Answering some of the Questions You may have about Staging and Redesign

Q: What is staging?

Staging goes beyond getting a home ready for sale.
Staging is, in essence, "dressing" a home for sale.
Staging makes your home look brighter, cleaner, bigger and warmer,
in other words, more appealing to the buyer.
Many realtors will attest to the fact that buyers begin their search
for a home based on logic, but end up buying on emotion.
A professional home stager has an eye for what will appeal to the senses of the buyer, therefore
they can set the stage for more potential buyers to fall in love with your home.

Q: How will it help me?

In today's slow market, your house is just one of many on the market.
Staging will make your home unique allowing it to stand above the rest.
Often a home owner cannot see their home through the eye of the buyer, however
a home stager can help you depersonalize your home,
so the buyer can see themselves living in the home.
A home stager knows how to bring out the best features
of a room and minimize any flaws.

Q: Is it worth spending the money?

Staging  will set the stage for a much quicker sale at top dollar.
Most often stagers will work with what the homeowner already has,
but arranges it in a totally new and unique way.
Some of the items they may use are: mirrors, plants, small tables, rugs, pillows, baskets, etc.
You can decide how much you want to spend on staging:
         1. Consultation only-you do the work.
         2. Consultation-the stager will help you with the work.
         3. Consultation- the stager will do all the work with stager's own crew.

Q: How long will it take?

There is no set time that it will take to stage your home.
This would depend on what needs to be done.
It is better to have a stager come into your home
before you do anything to prepare it for sale;
they have a better sense of what to pack away
and what to leave out.
The home stager will do a room-by-room consultation
with the home owner and give the owner a list of things
that need to be done.
If the home has been prepared for a sale and is clean and decluttered,
then a few hours would be needed to stage your home.
If painting and minor repairs are needed it can take as much as a week or two.

Q:What is the difference between Staging and Redesign?

As a rule, staging is done to show your home to sell.
Redesign is rearranging your furniture and accessories
in new and pleasing ways to refresh the look and feeling of your home.
Sometimes people do this before parties, celebrations or holidays.
